It’s pretty common to talk about you “college years” as a ‘season’ or ‘chapter’ in your life. But when people would say that to me, it made my time at college seem like a small portion of my life. And I know that in the grand picture, college is a small part. But I don’t believe in downsizing any ‘chapter’ of my life, I don’t even want to downsize a single day. Because today is May 17, 2012 and I am half way through college. Wow, half way - two years ago I walked at my high school graduation and received that diploma, now two years from now I will be walking across yet another stage receiving my Bachelor of Arts in Education. Stop. Hold the phone. Two years is no time at all, yet I loved EVERY SINGLE day of the past two years. Its scary when you stop and realize where you are in life and how far you have come, you want to take advantage of every moment - and that is where I am right now.
I am realizing that college is just a chapter of my life, but with everything that has happened, I could write a book. I pray that someday I can sit down and write a book at my time at Moody, but that is a dream for another day.
I am starting this blog because it is a perfect way to keep track of my life and someday look back and remember this special chapter in my life. College. So privital, so vital, so fleeting. I wish I could stay a perpetual student, actually I probably will I love learning, but not a student like this - living in dorms, on campus, free and the whole world right outside my door.
I’ll try and keep this blog short, but how can you put a limit on explaining one of the best years of your life? Impossible. Challenge Accepted.
So here is my opening blog - to give all you readers some cultural context (bible school joke) to my life.
This is my city - Chicago. Everyday I get to see this view from my dorm room! #blessed
For my first semester I got to room with my best friend in the whole world - Steph!
For their fall break, my friends Jamie and Rachel drove from Virginia to visit me in Chicago!
I became a nanny for these two great kids - Kaden and Caroline - love them and miss them so much!
I played intramural flag football, and I loved it! This is my and Alissa cheering on the Culby team in the North/South bowl. - I'm pretty competitive....
Christmas at home! One of my favorite traditions is getting legos for Christmas. Enjoying this with my two older brothers Jeremy and Stephen is the best!
I want to the Passion conference at the end of my Xmas break with some of the most amazing girls at Moody - Chesney, Carly, and Lauren - also the photo bombers name is Taylor #newfriends.
Came back for Spring Semester and roomed with my dear friend Alissa. This was probably one of the hardest/busiest/stressful semesters ever! She was so patient with me!
Chesney, Lauren, and Kari - some of my favorite girls ever! Enjoying downtime in my room.
My grandfather passed away mid February so I had a chance to go home and enjoy time with my family!
Steph continued to stay in my life even though she went to a different college, we were heading out to a Gungor concert in Wheaton and a sleep - over at her college when we ran into Ches and decided to take a picture. I will forever love this picture - cherishing sweet friends and sweet moments.
There is nothing like spending the weekend in the 'burbs with some of your favorite people. Five of us, on one bed...because we can and because we love each other!
I got the chance to go to Commencement and watch the Seniors I love so much graduate - Ashley, Melissa, Hannah C., Hannah S., Kaitlin, Sarah, Matt B., Corey, and Charissa.

Then I boarded a plane for Florida and said goodbye to the City that I love, to the friends that I loved, and the place I call home till August.
Enjoying this time of rest at home, but I am looking forward to another two years at Moody with more growth, more change, more knowledge of God, and a deeper love for Him.

I love that He is writing your story, and you are communicating it, in a way that exalts Him! Love the new blog!
